SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara Golf team is ready for the 2024-25 season, which will be the team’s third season under Head Coach Chris Massoletti. This schedule will feature four tournaments during the fall and seven tournaments during the spring.
As the new academic year begins, the Gauchos will kick off their season in Colorado, first with the Ram Masters Invitational hosted by Colorado State from Sept. 17 to Sept. 18 before heading to the Air Force Academy to compete in the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational from Sept. 21 to Sept. 23. Once the Blue and Gold return from Colorado, they will have two weeks before their next fall tournament as they head to Berkeley for the Alister Mackenzie Invitational hosted by Cal, which will take place from Oct. 7 through Oct. 8. After that, UC Santa Barbara will head to Seaside, California for one more fall tournament as they compete at the Leadership and Golf Collegiate hosted by Saint Mary’s from Oct. 21 to Oct. 23.
Once the Gauchos wrap up the fall slate, they will take a few months off to prepare for the championship season in the spring. UC Santa Barbara will kick it off in Tucson, Arizona where they will play in the National Invitational Tournament hosted by Arizona from Feb. 3 to Feb. 4. From there, the Gauchos will head to the Orange County Invitational hosted by UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton as they compete from Feb. 10 to 11. UC Santa Barbara will then wrap up the month of February with a trip to the desert as they compete in the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate from Feb. 24 through Feb. 26.
Massoletti and his team will then take a month off from tournaments before heading back to the state of Arizona for the Gopher/Tommie Intercollegiate, cohosted by Minnesota and St. Thomas, from March 24 through March 25. It will be a quick turnaround as they then make the trip up to Washington for the Seattle University Invitational from March 31 to April 1, before coming back to Santa Barbara for their only home tournament, the Gaucho Invitational, that will take place from April 7 through April 8. The Blue and Gold will then move onto The Big West Championships, once again held in La Quinta, California, from April 27 to April 29, with hopes of performing well enough to move on to NCAA Regionals.
