STATESBORO, Ga. (WTOC) – Tayvian McKibbins, a freshman on the Georgia Southern football team, has died after a battle with cancer. The team announced his passing Thursday evening.
McKibbins attended Cass High School in Bartow County, Georgia, and joined the Eagles in January as an early enrollee.
The Eagles began spring practices on Tuesday, McKibbins being one of 17 new players that are beginning with the program.
A GoFundMe has been set up in McKibbins’ honor. All donations are going towards helping his family with funeral expenses, medical bills, and anything else they may need.
