Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal, reports On3’s Pete Nakos.
Beck, 23, previously announced that he was declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft, but he apparently wants to play one more college season. He threw for 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, completing 64.7% of his passes for the 11–3 Bulldogs.
His 2024 campaign ended in the SEC championship game when he was injured on a sack just before halftime. Beck did not play in the second half, except for the final play when he handed off to Trevor Etienne for the game-winning touchdown in Georgia’s 22–19 win over Texas.
Beck was eventually diagnosed with a torn UCL in his right elbow, sidelining him for the rest of Georgia’s season, which ended in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals with a 23–10 loss to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl.
A two-year starter for the Bulldogs, Beck took over for Stetson Bennett after Georgia won two consecutive national championships. During those two seasons, Beck completed 68% of his passes for 7,426 yards and 52 touchdowns.
With his experience and success, Beck is expected to attract a big number in NIL, which surely factored into his decision to play his final season of college eligibility.
