Georgia men’s golf saved its best for last at the Fallen Oak Invitational on Monday. The Bulldogs had their best round of the tournament on the final day, shooting a 5-under 283 to finish in fourth place.
“We had our third-best round of the season today so it was a great way to finish the tournament and be in the top four overall,” head coach Chris Haack said.
Buck Brumlow was the Bulldog’s top finisher of the tournament. The senior tied for fourth after shooting a 4-under 212.
“I’m proud of Buck for his consistent play and finishing in the top four of the leaderboard,” Haack said.
Grayson Wood finished the tournament at even par thanks to a final-round eagle on the par-5 sixth hole. The sophomore finished tied for 13th place, marking his best finish of the year along the way.
George Langham tied for 17th place behind 15 straight pars in the final round. Langham finished the tournament at 1-over par.
The graduate was followed closely by Camden Smith who had an eventful path to the clubhouse on the final day. The sophomore had four birdies and three bogies in his final nine holes to finish 1-under and tied for 23rd in the tournament.
The Bulldogs were only topped by Ole Miss, Illinois and LSU who are all ranked inside the top 15, and finished ahead of SEC rivals South Carolina and Mississippi State.
The Bulldogs now take on the Ka’anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational in Maui, Hawaii. The final tournament of the fall will take place from Nov. 2-4 at the Royal Ka’anapali Golf Course.
