Georgia football starting offensive guard Tate Ratledge could be sidelined for several games, but his injuries sustained Saturday at Kentucky are not expected to keep him out the rest of the season, according to a report.
An MRI revealed that Ratledge sprained the MCL in his left knee and sprained his left ankle, Rusty Mansell of DawgsHQ reported. The 6-foot-6, 310-pound senior preseason All-American should be back in time for the Nov. 2 game against Florida after the Bulldogs’ second open date.
Georgia plays next against Alabama on Sept. 28 and then faces Auburn and Mississippi State at home before playing at Texas.
Georgia has yet to release any update on Ratledge’s injury since Saturday night.
Ratledge was injured in the second quarter of the 13-12 win over Kentucky. He grabbed his left leg and then tapped his helmet, signalling the injury.
He went to the injury tent and then was carted off.
Ratledge, from Rome, is a three-year Georgia starter. Micah Morris stepped in for him Saturday after the injury.
