WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women’s golf team is in Palos Verdes Estates, California for the 2025 Therese Hession Regional Challenge, hosted by Ohio State University, Sunday through Tuesday, February 2-4. The 16-team field will compete on the par-71, 6,017-yard course at the Palos Verdes Golf Club. This tournament opens the spring season for the Blue & Gray.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Megan Gormley is first in the lineup in what will be a homecoming for the graduate student. The co-captain played every round of the fall slate, recording a team-best 72.92 stroke average over 12 rounds in the fall. She recorded four rounds at or under par, including all three in the 2024 Blue Hen Invitational, closing on a 2-under 70 and managing a 2-under 69 in the second round of the Cavalier Regional Preview. Over the course of four tournaments in the fall, she totaled 35 birdies and 126 pars.
- Georgia Ruffolo is second in the lineup for the three-day tournament. The co-captain was second on the squad with a 73.75 stroke average after competing in every round of the fall slate. She closed the fall with an even par 72 to open the Blue Hen Invitational before closing on a 3-under 69 and 1-under 71 in the final two rounds of the tournament. She managed one eagle, 30 birdies and 129 pars for the fall.
- Charlotte Hillary was another Hoya who competed in every round of the fall season. She managed a 76.00 stroke average following 12 rounds or action, including one at par and one under par with both coming during the Princeton Invitational. For the fall, she tallied 25 birdies and 115 pars.
- Gabriella Eifrig is fourth in the lineup and the final Hoya who played every round of golf during the fall portion of the season. The freshman recorded a 77.33 stroke average over 12 rounds and recorded 22 birdies and 120 pars.
- Catherine Qiu competed in three of the four fall tournaments, recording a 80.67 stroke average over nine rounds of golf. For the fall season, the freshman tallied eight birdies and 85 pars.
HOYAS X THE THERESE HESSION REGIONAL CHALLENGE
- The three-day tournament marks a return to the course and the event, hosted by the Buckeyes, for the fourth season in a row.
- In last year’s tournament, inclement weather forced the format to be changed to match play.
