LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference has named Gannon sophomore Mattia Parrini (Verolengo, Italy/Verolengo) the PSAC Men’s Golf Co-Athlete of the Week.
Parrini helped Gannon win the team title at the Ferris State Bulldog Fall Classic by placing third among 63 golfers on Tuesday in Big Rapids, Mich. Parrini shared the PSAC award with Timothy Peters of Millersville.
On Monday, Parrini opened with rounds of even-par 71 and 1-under 70 on the Katke Golf Course to move into a tie for the lead through 36 holes at 1-under 141. He then shot even-par 71 in the final round on Tuesday as he finished third with a 1-under-par 212 total for 54 holes.
Parrini’s efforts helped Gannon claim the team title by six strokes in the 10-team event.
