AUGUSTA, Mich. – The Gannon women’s golf team turned in a steady all-around performance on Saturday to move into third place at the Davenport University Panther Invitational.
Freshman Alexandria LeCureux (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) paced Gannon with a round of 2-over-par 74 on the Stonehedge Golf Club course as Gannon finished with a team total of 17-over 305. The Golden Knights trail Saginaw Valley State and Davenport, who are tied for first after shooting 8-over 296s.
The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Sunday.
LeCureux is in fifth place after shooting one birdie and 14 pars on Saturday. Tiffin’s Lisa Marie Schumacher leads the tournament after shooting a 5-under 67.
Gannon senior Andrea Martinez (Tarragona, Spain/Col·legi Vedruna Sagrat Cor) carded three birdies on Saturday on her way to a 3-over 75. She is in eighth place.
Senior Ditte Petersen (Dianalund, Denmark/Sorø Akademi Skole) shot a 5-over 77 to move into 15th place, while sophomore Cloe Mateo (Sabadell, Spain/Montcau la Mola) carded a 7-over 79 and is in 23rd place.
Senior Emily Donahue (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) had three birdies in her 9-over 81.
Playing as individuals Victoria Colmenares (Santa Cruz, Bolivia/ICL Academy) shot 5-over 77, and freshman Gunnhildur Gunnarasdottir carded an 86.
