India clean-swept Bangladesh at home after a rain-affected match in Kanpur where two and a half days were lost. However, India still managed to force a result in the remaining two days of the match.
Following the impressive display of performance in the Test match, Ravichandran Ashwin had only praises for youngsters, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill during the post-match interview.

As India came in to bat on day 4 trailing Bangladesh’s 233 in the first innings, they went hammer and tongs while becoming the team with the fastest 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 in a Test innings, courtesy of Jaiswal’s 72(51) while Shubman also scored 39(36).
The opener backed up his 72 with a 51(45) during the run chase and secured India’s win on the final day. Here’s what Ashwin had to say about the duo.

Talking about the match and reflecting on the performances, one of the current pillars of Indian cricket and one of the reasons for India’s domination at home, R Ashwin touted the duo as the future pillars of Indian cricket.
“[Yashasvi] Jaiswal and [Shubman] Gill are special players. They are the future pillars of Indian Cricket,” said R Ashwin.
In the series against Bangladesh which ended on Tuesday, Jaiswal finished the two matches as the highest run-getter with three fifties in four innings played, including the incredible day 4 knock in Kanpur under difficult circumstances.
He also impressed in the series with some serious efforts in the field, especially with his gully catching. He took 4 catches which was also the highest in the series

Shubman Gill who recently started batting at 3 also contributed to the clean sweep over the visitors.
He finished as the second-highest run-scorer in the series with a century in the second innings of the Chennai Test where he stitched a 167-run stand with Rishabh Pant and scored 119*(176).
He followed that up by an important 39(36) in the first innings of the second Test where India went ballistic.
