The Oklahoma City Thunder return home to start a five-game homestand. They will host the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday. It’s the season’s first matchup between the Western Conference heavyweights.
The Thunder (25-5) are on the second night of a road-and-home back-to-back. They put away the LaMelo-less Charlotte Hornets on Saturday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a nonchalant 22 points and six assists. OKC has won 10 in a row.
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies (22-10) have won two in a row. Their win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday came at a costly price. Jaren Jackson Jr. had 33 points and Ja Morant scored 25 points.
The Thunder have yet to submit an injury report because it’s the second night of back-to-back. That said, it’s safe to say Chet Holmgren (hip fracture) and Nikola Topic (torn ACL) will be out.
The Thunder were without Lu Dort, Cason Wallace and Alex Caruso in their win over the Hornets for different injuries. Dort had an ankle sprain, Wallace had a quad contusion and Caruso had a hip strain. The three-headed defensive monster’s status is unknown. It’ll be important for OKC to gain at least one back.
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies will be without several important players. Morant (AC joint sprain) is out. He’s their biggest loss as he suffered a shoulder injury in their win over the Pelicans.
Marcus Smart (finger partial extensor hood tear) is out. Santi Aldama (ankle sprain) is out. Vince Williams Jr. (ankle sprain) is out. GG Jackson (fifth metatarsal repair) is out. Brandon Clarke (knee soreness) is questionable.
Tipoff from Oklahoma City is set for 6 p.m. CT.
