The Oklahoma City Thunder travel on the road to face the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2024 NBA Cup on Friday. It’s the season’s first matchup between the teams.
The Thunder (14-4) are fresh off a gutsy win over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 35 points as OKC was without Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams for the second half.
Meanwhile, the Lakers (11-7) snapped a three-game loss streak with a win over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday. LeBron James had a 16-point triple-double.
The same cast of characters will be out for the Thunder. They dodged a bullet with Williams’ eye injury. He was not listed on OKC’s injury report.
Chet Holmgren (hip fracture) is out. Jaylin Williams (hamstring strain) is out. Ousmane Dieng (finger fracture) is out. Alex Caruso (hip strain) is out. Nikola Topic (torn ACL) is out. Alex Ducas (G League two-way) is out. Adam Flagler (hand contusion) is questionable.
Meanwhile, the Lakers will be mostly healthy. Nobody noteworthy will be out of action.
Anthony Davis (plantar fasciitis) is probable. Dalton Knecht (quad contusion) is probable. Jaxson Hayes (ankle contusion) is doubtful. Jarred Vanderbilt (foot surgery recovery) is out. Christian Wood (knee surgery recovery) is out. Bronny James (heel contusion) is out.
Tipoff from Los Angeles is set for 9 p.m. CT.
