Greensburg, PA – The Fayetteville State golf team competed in the Hannastown Tournament and secured 8th place with a total score of 888(295,293, 300).
Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) clinched the top spot with a total score of 855, demonstrating consistent play across all three rounds (288, 279, 288). Davis & Elkins College secured second place with a total score of 860, showing improvement each round (291, 286, 283). West Liberty University rounded out the top three with a total score of 865, maintaining steady scores throughout the tournament (290, 286, 289).
The Broncos had several notable performances at the tournament. Freshman Sutton Dreier led the team, tied for 9th place with a total score of 214 (72, 71, 71). Sutton secured 3 birdies in both the 1st and 2nd rounds, and added 2 more birdies in the 3rd round.
Sophomore Donald Barnett followed, tying for 30th place with a score of 221 (73, 75, 73). Junior Jack McCarthy tied for 36th place, scoring 223 (72, 73, 78). Senior Shaun Wixson finished in 62nd place with a score of 232 (78, 74, 80), and sophomore Allan Terrazas tied for 71st place with a score of 237 (83, 76, 78).
The team will travel to Salisbury, NC to compete in the Richard & Patsy Rendleman Invitational on October 7-8th.
