GUILFORD, Maine (WABI) – Friends of Community Fitness is in the middle of a $25,000 match challenge thanks to an anonymous donor.
$13,000 is already saved, and the gym is working to raise $12,000 by the July 1 match deadline.
The potential $50,000 will be the start of the community center’s endowment fund.
“It’s so exciting. This is a huge opportunity. It helps us to secure this place for generations to come. We now have over 1,000 members, and we have over 40 programs a week that we offer to the community,” said Britney Gallagher, executive director.
Donations can be made on the gym’s web site, in person, or mailed to the center at 31 High St., Ste. A, Guilford, Maine, 04443.
Friends of Community Fitness has been serving Guilford and the surrounding area since 2003.
