KINGSTON, LUZERNE CO. (WOLF) — The Friedman Jewish Community Center in Kingston celebrated a major milestone today with the grand opening of their newly expanded fitness center.
The new facility, JFIT, offers the community a proper gym experience with an abundant variety of workout equipment such as assault treadmills, regular treadmills, recumbent bikes, steppers, cable machines, power lifting platforms, and a full rack of dumbbells.
Additionally they also offer personal trainers as well as yoga, cardio, and Zumba classes.
Crystal Wright, Director of Operations for the Friedman JCC, says they started discussing this project about six to eight months ago and is glad the development process was as efficient as it was.
“We really truly are a center for everyone. Anybody at all can come and workout and because of the trainers and the equipment that we have now, people of all fitness levels can be here, which is a great piece,” said Wright.
President of the Friedman JCC, Jane Messinger is excited to be able to provide members of the community center a better and more spacious exercise experience.
“When we first opened in 2019, we recognized very quickly that we needed more fitness space, and it took us a while but once we reopened after Covid we decided to build up our fitness facilities so that our members have a lot more room,” said Messinger.
Messinger further states the new JFIT center is an excellent addition to the many other services and activities the JCC provides like the food pantry, sports leagues, art classes, and more.
