Thorpedo Anna worked Friday for the second time since her Breeders’ Cup Distaff victory.

The 2024 horse of the year breezed four furlongs in 47.03 seconds at Gulfstream Park, second fastest of 34 at the distance.

Trainer Kenny McPeek told Thoroughbred Daily News this week that the 4-year-old likely would have her next start in the Grade 2 Azeri at Oaklawn on March 8, perhaps with the Apple Blossom (G1) after that.

Also of note, Dubyuhnell returned to the tab for the first time since June, breezing three furlongs in 38.2 seconds at Payson Park, slowest of five at the distance. Winner of the Remsen (G2) in 2022, his lone win in six starts since came in an optional-claiming allowance in October 2023. He raced twice last year, finishing ninth in an optional-claiming allowance in May in his last start.

Thorpedo Anna (Fast Anna), a five-time Grade 1 winner, worked four furlongs in 47.0 seconds at Gulfstream Park on Friday morning. It was the second fastest of 34 works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going three furlongs at Gulfstream Park. In her last start she won the Breeders’ Cup Distaff going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 2 for trainer Kenny McPeek.

Howard Wolowitz (Munnings), a Grade 1 winner (2024 Franklin-Simpson), worked four furlongs in 47.1 seconds at Palm Meadows on Friday morning. It was the fastest of 46 works at the distance. His previous work was 13 days ago going four furlongs at Palm Meadows. In his last start he won the Holiday Cheer going six furlongs on the synthetic at Turfway Park on Dec. 14 for trainer Jose D’Angelo.

Nakatomi (Firing Line), a Grade 1 winner (2024 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap), worked four furlongs in 48.4 seconds at Payson Park on Friday morning. It was the fastest of 16 works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Payson Park. In his last start he placed sixth in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint going six furlongs on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 2 for trainer Wesley Ward.

Dubyuhnell (Good Magic), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Remsen), worked three furlongs in 38.2 seconds at Payson Park on Friday morning. It was the slowest of five works at the distance. His previous work was 218 days ago going three furlongs at Saratoga. In his last start he placed ninth in an allowance race going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Churchill Downs on May 9 for trainer Danny Gargan.

Sparkle Blue (Hard Spun), a Grade 2 winner (2024 Hillsborough), worked four furlongs in 49.4 seconds on turf at Palm Meadows on Friday morning. It was the 31st fastest of 45 works at the distance. Her previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Palm Meadows. In her last start she placed 11th in the Dance Smartly (G2) going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Woodbine on Oct. 5 for trainer Graham Motion.

Alpha Bella (Justify), a Grade 3 winner (2024 La Prevoyante), worked four furlongs in 48.6 seconds at Santa Anita on Friday morning. It was the 31st fastest of 55 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start she placed second in the La Canada (G3) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Santa Anita on Jan. 19 for trainer John Sadler.

Artislas (Catalina Cruiser), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Del Mar Juvenile Turf), worked five furlongs in 1:00.0 at Santa Anita on Friday morning. It was the third fastest of 10 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he won the Eddie Logan going one mile on the turf at Santa Anita on Dec. 29 for trainer Jeff Mullins.

Cairo Consort (Cairo Prince), a Grade 3 winner (2023 Sweetest Chant), worked four furlongs in 48.8 seconds at Palm Beach Downs on Friday morning. It was the eighth fastest of 24 works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Palm Beach Downs. In her last start she placed 10th in the Nassau (G2) going one mile on the turf at Woodbine on June 29 for trainer Kevin Attard.

Danse Macabre (Army Mule), a Grade 3 winner (2023 Herecomesthebride), worked four furlongs in 49.8 seconds at Turfway Park on Friday morning. It was the 17th fastest of 29 works at the distance. Her previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Turfway Park. In her last start she placed eighth in the Ladies Turf Sprint (G2) going 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf at Kentucky Downs on Aug. 31 for trainer Kelsey Danner.

Duke of Love (Cupid), a Grade 3 winner (2023 West Virginia Governor’s), worked five furlongs in 1:00.9 at Palm Meadows on Friday morning. It was the second fastest of seven works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Palm Meadows. In his last start he placed fifth in the Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1) going 1 1/4 miles on the main track at Saratoga on Sept. 2 for trainer Josie Carroll.

Encino (Nyquist), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Lexington), worked four furlongs in 48.8 seconds at Fair Grounds on Friday morning. It was the 14th fastest of 52 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he won an allowance race going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Fair Grounds on Jan. 16 for trainer Brad Cox.

La Cara (Street Sense), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Pocahontas), worked four furlongs in 49.1 seconds at Palm Meadows on Friday morning. It was the 20th fastest of 46 works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Palm Meadows. In her last start she placed fifth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 1 for trainer Mark Casse.

Sovereignty (Into Mischief), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Street Sense), worked four furlongs in 49.2 seconds at Payson Park on Friday morning. It was the 13th fastest of 16 works at the distance. His previous work was 16 days ago going four furlongs at Payson Park.
