Two-time graded stakes winner Kinza, unraced since April, worked at Santa Anita Friday morning for trainer Bob Baffert.
The 3-year-old filly worked five furlongs in 1:00.0, the second fastest at that distance at the California track. The Carpe Diem filly won her debut last year in December and won two Grade 3 races back-to-back at Santa Anita, with the Las Virgenes and Santa Yesbel, to open 2024.
Since finishing second in the Santa Anita Oaks (G2) in April, Kinza has been training off and on since and has been worked regularly since September.
Can Group (Good Samaritan), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Bourbon), worked four furlongs in 48.7 seconds on turf at Palm Meadows on Friday morning. It was the 13th fastest of 44 works at the distance. His previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs at Palm Meadows. In his last start, he placed ninth in the Audubon going 1 1/8 miles on the turf at Churchill Downs on June 1 for trainer Mark Casse.
Mystic Lake (Mo Town), a Grade 2 winner (2024 Charles Town Oaks), worked four furlongs in 48.6 seconds at Palm Meadows on Friday morning. It was the 18th fastest of 41 works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Palm Meadows. In her last start, she placed fourth in the Cotillion (G1) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Parx Racing on Sept. 21 for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.
