Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Citizen Bull got back on the work tab Friday for the first time since his victory in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. The Bob Baffert trainee worked four furlongs in 49.4 seconds.
The son of Into Mischief has won three of his four starts so far, with his only defeat to date coming behind Gaming in the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity in September. Gaming, who finished second to Citizen Bull in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, returns to the races Saturday as the 2-5 morning-line favorite in the Grade 2 Los Alamitos Futurity.
Two other last-out graded-stakes winners also returned to the work tab Friday for their first drills since those races. Be Your Best, who won the Long Island (G3) on Nov. 10 at Aqueduct, worked a bullet three furlongs at Palm Meadows for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. Mrs. Astor, who won the Red Carpet (G3) at Del Mar on Nov. 24 for trainer Jonathan Thomas, also got back to work.
