WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – There’s a free event coming up for people who may be interested in a career at the Department of Social Services.
WorkPlace director Cheryl Mayforth and Jefferson County DSS commissioner Karen Marcum talked about it on 7 News at Noon.

The free event will be at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, at the Jefferson Community College Commons. Dinner is included.
After dinner, JCC representatives will explain what majors are available toward a career in social services. After that, discussions will center around possible funding, opportunities at DSS, and civil service requirements.
