The UT Cricket Association (UTCA), Chandigarh, will organise the Chandra Shekhar Azad T20 Tournament, a franchisee-based event, at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Sector 3, Panchkula, from February 7.
UTCA president Sanjay Tandon unveiled the details of the league. The tournament will feature six franchisee-owned teams competing in a total of 33 matches, including two semi-finals and the final on February 23. The matches will be broadcast live.
The teams participating in the tournament are HIIMS Hawks, Talanoa Tigers, Punjab Panthers, Wild Wood Warriors, City Challengers and Manohar Mavericks.
Tandon said the tournament, dedicated to the freedom fighter, was being held with an aim to promote local cricketing talent and strengthen Chandigarh’s reputation as a hub for sports.
The best performers will be honoured with the Man of the Match award.
