COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A former trainer at a Columbia Planet Fitness who is accused of filming women undress in tanning booths appeared on the Boone County Jail roster over the weekend and posted bond.
Kenneth Gerard Steele was charged with invasion of privacy and third-degree domestic assault. He was in the jail on Saturday and posted a $25,000 bond. An arraignment was held Monday and a hearing has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12.
A Planet Fitness employee, speaking anonymously because they are not authorized to speak with media, told ABC 17 News last week that Steele was a trainer at the 205 East Nifong Blvd. location.
Steele is accused of placing a camera in a towel holder in order to watch women undress, according to court documents in previous reporting.
Steele became angry and yelled when confronted with the evidence, ultimately hitting his accuser in the chest, grabbing their neck and shoving them into a wooden dresser, a separate probable cause statement says.
