CLEVELAND, Ohio — One of the NFL’s best cornerbacks is on the move ahead of the 4 p.m. NFL trade deadline, and it involves the team the Browns will play next.
According to multiple reports including ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Saints are trading Marshon Lattimore to the Commanders.
The deal is Lattimore and a fifth-round pick to the Commanders in exchange for a third-, fourth- and sixth-round pick according to Schefter. ESPN’s Katherine Terrell added that all draft picks are in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Lattimore has earned four Pro Bowl selections after the Saints drafted the former Ohio State star with the 11th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. He has 15 career interceptions in 97 games.
This season, Lattimore has played in seven games for the Saints this season. He doesn’t have an interception, but he has 30 total tackles, including 22 solos, and two pass breakups,
Lattimore now goes to a Commanders team that ranks fifth against the pass but 21st in net yards per pass attempt (6.2).
This is also the second major move the Saints have made in as many days. On Monday, the Saints fired head coach Dennis Allen and promoted special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi to interim coach.
The Saints are the next team on the Browns schedule as Cleveland will travel to New Orleans in Week 11.
