The NCAA transfer portal never sleeps and is constantly moving. The most recent movement is a landing spot for a former Iowa Hawkeyes quarterback.
Cade McNamara, who spent two seasons with the Hawkeyes after spending three years with the Michigan Wolverines, signed with a new program via the transfer portal.
Cade McNamara has signed with East Tennessee State University, as reported by Pete Nakos of On3.

Cade McNamara spent his first three collegiate seasons with the Michigan Wolverines, where he led them to a Big Ten Championship over the Iowa Hawkeyes.
After a surgery that led to J.J. McCarthy taking over as the Wolverines’ starter, McNamara transferred to Iowa before the 2023 season.
His time with Iowa was marred with injuries. Early in the 2023 campaign, he tore his ACL and missed the rest of the season. In 2024, McNamara suffered a concussion that forced him to miss the second half of the season.
Through five seasons, McNamara has completed 417-685 (60.9%) of his passes for 4,703 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions.
McNamara, the former four-star recruit coming out of high school, will be entering his sixth season as a collegiate quarterback and joins East Tennesee State with one year of eligibility.
East Tennessee State, a member of the Southern Conference, went 7-5 during the 2024 season.
