Former Indiana basketball standout Kel’el Ware wasn’t on many minds regarding the NBA Rookie of the Year award at the beginning of the season.
The Miami Heat center is now. According to BetMGM, Ware currently has the best odds to win the award (+150). Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey, the two-time national player of the year at Purdue, sits in fifth at +2200.
Ware, who spent one season at IU, averages 8.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1 block per game. In the last three games, Ware has scored at least 20 points, grabbed at least eight rebounds and blocked two shots per contest.
According to Vegas Insider, Ware opened the season at +5000. Ware was drafted 15th overall by the Heat in June.
