Former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback and Georgia high school football standout Brock Vandagriff has retired from football, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.

Vandagriff has opted to not use his last season of eligibility at Kentucky and did not enter the transfer portal. A University of Kentucky spokesperson confirmed Vandagriff’s decision.

Vandagriff was a 5-star prospect out of Prince Avenue Christian School in Bogart, just outside of Athens. He spent three seasons with the Bulldogs before transferring to Kentucky. He played in eight games in 2023 as a reserve, completing 12 of 18 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound quarterback also had five carries for 39 yards. He played three games in 2022 and two games in 2021.

Vandagriff was the 2020 AJC Georgia high school football player of the year.

When the then-top-ranked Bulldogs traveled to Lexington this season, Vandagriff and the Wildcats nearly defeated his former team, though Georgia walked away with a 13-12 victory.
