The Boston Celtics drafted Guerschon Yabusele with the 16th pick in the 2016 NBA draft. The “Dancing Bear” spent two seasons with the Celtics under Brad Stevens before falling out of the league and embarking on a career throughout Europe. In recent years, Yabusele cemented himself as an essential part of Real Madrid’s rotation and became one of the best forwards in the European leagues.
During the 2024 Paris Olympics, Yabusele showcased the improvements he’s made to his game and was a breakout star of the tournament. The veteran forward’s high-level play and impactful role for the French National Team led the Philadelphia 76ers to sign him ahead of the upcoming season.
During a recent interview with the “Role Player Podcast” YouTube channel, Yabusele discussed his time in Boston, the difficulties of being a young overseas talent in a big market, and his hopes for the upcoming season with the Sixers. Yabusele also discussed the different styles of play he encountered once entering the NBA.
