D’IBERVILLE, Miss. (WLOX)— The Super Bowl is bringing many sports fans to the South, with some enjoying a sports card and memorabilia show in D’Iberville ahead of the big game.
Whether you’re a buyer, seller, or just interested in the trading card world, Troy Graham and friends say, ‘Come on in!’
“Just trying to get people locally around here to love the hobby like we do,” ‘For Love of the Hobby Sports Cards’ owner Troy Graham said.
The group and vendors say it helps business when a major sporting event like the Super Bowl is nearby.
“Everybody’s got their favorite team, the Chiefs, the Eagles,” Ben’s Card World owner Ben Price said.
“Sports is huge right now; all sports are huge right now,” Sean Dorcik said. “There’s a lot of players that garner a lot of attention. Shohei Ohtani is a big one, the guys in the Super Bowl tomorrow, Jalen, Patrick Mahomes.”
A setup of more than 50 tables showcased vendors from four different states.
The crowd, showing a diverse age group, made it clear that card collecting is something for all ages to enjoy.
The show also featured a VIP signing with former Saints kicker Garrett Hartley, who went 3-3 in field goals during the Saints’ victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV.
