SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Sunday night local bars were packed with people for the Super Bowl.
For many of them this can be the busiest night of the year.
WTOC stopped by Coach’s Corner that’s been in businesses for more than three decades.
Dozens of football fans packed in bars across our area for Super Bowl 59.
“Super Bowls of course the best. The biggest, the climax,” said John Henderson.
Henderson is the owner at Coach’s Corner and has been since 1991.
He said while the busiest day of year can change, the energy here on Super Bowl Sunday is always the same.
“I’m here all 18 weeks now and I see the people that come here and pull for the teams they pull for. When you see those teams make it to the Super Bowl, it’s like a reward,” said Henderson.
One of the people here all season long, Troy Mitchell.
He and his family, rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles.
“I’ve been coming here 20 plus years,” said Mitchell.
For the football of course, but for a lot of other reasons too.
“I just love the environment. I mean the people is good, the waitresses good, the food is great. Let’s run it baby,” said Mitchell.
Fans in all shapes and sizes, coming together Sunday night.
Henderson said, it’s the time of year of year where business spikes and so does the community.
“A lot of things I can say to my fans but we’ve been here 34 years almost and sports, food and fun are our tradition,” said Henderson.
