The latest job report shows that Leon County gained 3,167 jobs in September when compared to August. There were 159,470 people working in Leon County in September compared to August’s revised employment number of 156,303.
The September unemployment rate came in at 3.5%, down from the 3.9% reported last month. One year ago, the September 2023 unemployment rate was 3.2%.
There were 165,206 people in the workforce in September, down from 162,594 in August.

The Leon County Jobs Report, provided below, shows the number of people working in September 2024 was 365 more than in September 2023. The September labor force – those looking for jobs – came in at 165,206 which was 879 more than the number reported one year ago.
