Although the opponents had already been publicly revealed, Florida football’s 2025 schedule has been revealed in its entirety with the Southeastern Conference announcing its slate on Wednesday evening.
The Gators are set to face 10 Power-5 opponents, including three in-state opponents for the second-straight year: Miami (FL.), USF and Florida State.
As Swamp247 previously reported, the Gators will open the regular season against Long Island University on Aug. 30. Florida was initially scheduled to face Florida A&M University before the Rattlers opted out of the matchup for unknown reasons.
In Week 2, UF will host South Florida on Sept. 6 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The Gators have won all three meetings in the series’ history with the Bulls, with the most recent battles between the in-state programs coming in consecutive years, in 2021 and 2022.
After taking on the Bulls, UF will travel to Baton Rouge to take on LSU on Sept. 13, marking UF’s SEC opener and its first contest outside of Gainesville.
Following the first roadtrip of the season, Florida will remain on the road and face the Hurricanes on Sept. 20 at Hard Rock Stadium. The Hurricanes secured a 41-17 win over the Gators in the season-opener and appeared bound for their first appearance in the College Football Playoff, though a pair of losses in the final month of the regular season dashed the program’s hopes, and Miami will instead face Iowa State in the 2024 Pop-Tarts Bowl.
There will be no decrease in competition, as UF will take on Texas on Oct. 4 following the team’s first bye week of the season. Florida will look to avenge the largest margin of defeat in the Napier era, a 32-point loss to the Longhorns, when the Gators host Texas for just the second time in history, with the previous matchup occurring in 1940. After taking on the Longhorns, UF will once again face another team from the Lone Star State a week later when UF travels to College Station to take on the Aggies on Oct. 11. TAMU secured a 33-20 win over Florida during the first month of the 2024 season.
Florida will host Mississippi State on Oct. 18 ahead of the second and final bye week of the 2024 regular season.
On Nov. 1, the Gators will travel to Jacksonville to face Georgia, marking the final appearance in EverBank Stadium before the upcoming stadium renovations at EverBank Stadium. The series will be played in Atlanta and Tampa in 2026 and 2027, respectively, before returning to Jacksonville in 2028.
After facing the ‘Dawgs. the Gators once again have consecutive bye games: a matchup in Lexington against the Kentucky Wildcats on Nov. 8 and a battle with Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi, on Nov. 15.
Florida will conclude SEC play by hosting rival Tennessee on Nov. 22. The Volunteers down UF in overtime, 23-17, this season.
Florida’s regular season will come to a close on Nov. 29 when UF hosts Florida State for the annual rivalry matchup.
