GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – For over fifty years the Waldo Farmer’s and Flea Market has been a community trading post, drawing in people from all over north central Florida. We’re talking more than 300 booths with the widest variety of products around. The market’s new owner Tim Toomey has made some big improvements since taking over.
“Staffing, electrical, we have painted, we have basically tried to make this place a lot better. Cleaned up the stuff out of here, just want to make it look nice, and you know be presentable in the community again,” said Andrew Hughes, head of Waldo operations.
Early is the best time to hit the market if you want first looks at new items. The market has a wide range of collectables like action figures, Pokémon card, and check out this sweet Michael Jordan pog set, which I did buy. There’s also a wide variety of fresh produce shipped in daily. If you’re in need of fixing something, Toomey Tools owned by Tim Toomey, has been at the market since 1981. When it comes to food, they got you covered with all the classic treats. Friendly staff has one message for people thinking about stopping by.
“Come on down to the flea market, enjoy yourselves and have a good time, hope to see you here.”
You never know what you might find in each booth you search, Waldo Farmer’s and Flea Market has a little something for everyone.
