At 2 a.m. Sunday, a Delta Airlines flight had to return to Boston Logan International Airport after a 40-year-old former NFL player urinated on another passenger, Massachusetts State Police said.
The flight was headed from Boston to Dublin Sunday when the incident happened, police said.
Once the flight landed, police asked Gosder Cherilus, 40, of Wakefield, to leave the plane. But police said he became “irate and uncooperative.” He was eventually escorted off the plane and arrested for disorderly conduct and disturbing a flight crew.
Passengers continued on to Dublin on a different flight later Sunday, according to WCVB.
Cherilus played football for Boston College and was drafted to the NFL in 2008, according to WCVB. The offensive tackle played for the Detroit Lions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts.
Cherilus is expected to be arraigned Monday in East Boston District Court.
