A granola bar is also a good choice because it is light but also has some substance.
If you know you will be going through a hard workout and lifting heavy weights, Childers suggests eating about 20% more than what you would before going to the gym.
If you are gearing up to run a marathon, having meals the day before that contain a lot of carbs will help your energy levels the day of the race.
