Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness gives update on Fishers Event Center construction
The 7,500-capacity venue is expected to open Nov. 22 in Fishers. Mayor Scott Fadness explains what kind of events the venue will hold and what visitors can expect to look forward to.
A developer submitted its site plan for a housing development on a small shuttered golf course near the Indianapolis Metropolitan Airport in Fishers.
Balmoral Village will feature 105 townhouses and 69 single-family homes, several pockets of park space, small ponds and a trail on 44 acres tucked away from Allisonville Road just north of 96th Street.
Builder Lennar Homes said the townhouses would be three stories and the single family homes two stories, both with rear parking garages.
The developer will request a zoning change for the project from the Fishers City Council at a meeting Monday.
The $80 million complex is on the property of the Balmoral House, an event hall with a golf course and an address of 10110 Hamilton Hills Lane. It is bordered roughly by 96th Street, Allisonville Road and Willow View Lane.
The nine-hole golf course closed in 2019 and its owners, Diane and Rick Eaton, are selling the land to local developer Corby Thompson, owner of Boomer Development, Fishers.
The city has made Allisonville Road between 96th and 116th streets a focus of development. It converted the 96th Street intersection to a roundabout and plans to make the crossing at 116th Street one, as well.
Andretti Autosport is building a headquarters at the Metro Airport, River Place, a residential project is under construction at 96th Street and a Kroger is being built at 116th Street.
