BROOKRIDGE, Fla. – Fire destroyed a mobile home on Wednesday after Hernando County Fire Rescue said flames spread to the home from a golf cart charging in a garage.
The backstory:
According to HCFR, crews responded to a home in the 7700 block of Moriah Ave. in Brookridge shortly before 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Investigators said a golf cart was being charged in a side garage when the fire started, and heavy fire was coming from the home by the time firefighters arrived.
Crews got the fire under control in about 30 minutes, HCFR said, but the home is not livable. No injuries were reported.
The Red Cross is helping the displaced homeowner.
