LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – According to Jackson Public Schools, a fight broke out inside of Withington Stadium Friday night during the Jackson high school football game against Haslett.
Kriss Giannetti, the Assistant Superintendent of Communication at Jackson Public Schools, said Friday night that the fight broke out around 9:15 p.m. inside the stadium and then moved outside of the stadium as well.
While the fight was happening, shelter in place protocols were initiated at the stadium. The two teams left the field and fans were escorted to the north end of the stadium. Officers with the Jackson Police department secured the area but the game did not resume.
All spectators and the teams have left the stadium. Haslett won the game 42-24. The high school football playoffs will start next week.
