WASHINGTON (TNND) — FBI Director Kash Patel has reportedly expressed interest in a collaboration between his agency and the Ultimate Fighting Championship, according to ABC News.
Patel’s suggestion reportedly came during a Wednesday call with 55 FBI field offices. He suggested the two groups could form a relationship that could help agents develop physical fitness.
A FBI spokesperson declined comment when asked by The National News Desk (TNND) to confirm the reporting Thursday. UFC did not respond to TNND’s request for comment.
President Donald Trump is notably an avid UFC fan, making several appearances at fights while on the campaign trail. He is close allies with UFC CEO Dana White, who supported his 2024 election bid.
Though Trump has helped propel his sport further into the limelight, White said he will never again assist with a presidential campaign.
I’m never f—ing doing this again,” he told The New Yorker in November. “I want nothing to do with this s—. It’s gross. It’s disgusting. I want nothing to do with politics.”
White endorsed Trump during his address at the Republican National Convention in July. During that speech, he lauded Trump’s resilience in the wake of the first assassination attempt against him.
“I know President Trump as a fighter,” White said. “I’m in the tough guy business, and this guy is the toughest, most resilient I’ve seen in my life.”
Trump in 2001 hosted a UFC fight at his former Atlantic City casino hotel Trump Taj Mahal, helping the fledgling fighting league take off during a time when other venues were concerned over the violent nature of the sport.
