EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/Gray News) – A father in Georgia was issued a citation for letting his unlicensed 12-year-old daughter drive a golf cart that crashed.
According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened just before 5:15 p.m. Tuesday on Riverwood Parkway,
The collision threw the girl and her 14-year-old passenger out of the golf cart.
Authorities said the 12-year-old was driving a 2012 E-Z-Go golf cart north on Riverwood Parkway when she tried to make a right turn into a private drive.
She ended up losing control of the motorized vehicle, and its left front tire hit the curb.
Both passengers suffered injuries and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Authorities did not immediately identify the family involved but said the girl’s father received a ticket in the incident.
