RSJ’s Jackson Barrett created a value-based drafting Excel tool to create the preseason values for this Fantasy Football Trade Value Chart. The tool uses the FantasyPros consensus projections to assign values based on a 12-team, full PPR league.
Each week throughout the season, these values will be altered to reflect the player’s value for the rest of the season. Changes made to player’s value will be based on FantasyPros Rest of Season ECR, results from the season thus far, and The Wolf’s Rest of Season Rankings. But for the most part, the below values should generally reflect consensus rankings. The values provided also allow for comparing player values across positions, not just within one positional group.
For more information on how to make successful deals, check out our strategies for negotiating trades.
Be sure to tune back each week throughout the season. We’ll be adjusting the chart, discussing risers & fallers, and pinpointing trade targets.
The trade value chart for each position is linked below.
Last week, I was ridiculed for having Baker Mayfield outside of the top-12 quarterbacks in the Trade Value Chart. I am here to say that the criticism was fair and I’ve capitulated.
Mayfield has been nothing short of phenomenal this year. He’s thrown for just under 1,200 yards and accounted for 13 total touchdowns through five games. Mayfield has also finished as a top-7 QB in four of five weeks this season.
The most encouraging part of Mayfield’s outlook is that Liam Coen has him slinging the ball all over the field. The Buccaneers rank second in pass rate over expectation and 8th in raw pass rate, making them one of the most pass-heavy offenses in the league.
With the offensive weapons alongside Mayfield, the philosophy driven by Coen, and the all-around quality play for Mayfield put him in the QB1 conversation every week moving forward.
Another week is in the books and Patrick Mahomes has disappointed fantasy managers once again. We’re over a month into the season and Daniel Jones has scored more points than Mahomes. At this point, it’s incredibly difficult to justify having Mahomes as a top-12 quarterback moving forward.
The problem with Mahomes is that the Chiefs don’t need him to be a heroic quarterback to win games. They have a strong defense, a quality running game, and have started 5-0 without scoring 28 points in a single game.
The Chiefs are deploying a dink and dunk offense that is detrimental to Mahomes’ fantasy ceiling. His 5.4-yard aDOT ranks dead last among quarterbacks (min. 100 dropbacks) and his 5.8-percent deep throw rate comes in second to last.
Unless the Chiefs are forced to adopt a more aggressive offensive mindset, the outlook for Mahomes is grim. He becomes a matchup-based starter moving forward.
After two disappointing weeks and another stagnant week due to the Eagles’ bye, the window to buy Jalen Hurts is open. Both A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are set to return in Week 6 and the Philadelphia offense should be back in form.
Through four games, we’ve seen glimpses of what makes Hurts an elite fantasy quarterback. The Tush Push is very much alive, he ranks 4th among quarterbacks in rush attempts, he’s shown explosivity as a rusher, and he’s gone for 275-plus passing yards in two of four games.
Hurts has a very favorable upcoming schedule with the Bengals, Giants, and Jaguars all in the next month. With Brown and Smith returning, Hurts fantasy value is only set to rise in the upcoming weeks. If you’re looking to buy an elite quarterback while paying the lowest price possible, Hurts should be your target.
