Sports Seriously
The 2024 NFL season continues with Week 8. No teams are on a bye for the first time since Week 4, meaning there are plenty of options for fantasy managers to choose for their lineups this week.
Still, injuries remain a fixture across the league. Some players are returning to the field for the first time in a while in Week 8, while others could be held out. Here’s the latest injury news for fantasy-relevant players league-wide this week.
Jones was limited in practice Tuesday but was able to play through the injury in Week 7. He should be good to go Thursday night against the Rams.
Kupp will make his return to the field in Week 8 for the first time since his ankle injury in Week 2.
The Seahawks’ leading receiver by yards did not practice Wednesday and likely won’t practice on Thursday, either. He’s likely a long shot to play in Week 8. Jaxon Smith-Njigba will likely see more of a workload this week with Metcalf out.
NFL trade deadline: Five teams that should be sellers in 2024
Tagovailoa returned to practice on Wednesday and is on track to return in Week 8 against the Cardinals. Barring an unexpected setback, he should be in the lineup.
Brooks could make his first appearance in the NFL in Week 8. He was a limited participant in practice Wednesday and is in his 21-day practice window. His status should be determined by Friday at the latest.
Spears was back in practice Wednesday and could return to the field this week for Tennessee.

Kittle suffered a foot sprain in Week 7 and is considered day-to-day this week. He missed practice on Wednesday and coach Kyle Shanahan did not elaborate on his chances to play on Sunday.
Taylor’s long-awaited return may happen in Week 8 as he was back on the field for practice Wednesday. Coach Shane Steichen said, “We’ll see how the week goes, but we feel really good about it.”
Hockenson was limited in practice on both Monday and Tuesday. It is a short week, but he could make his season debut against the Rams. He remains questionable and could be a game-time decision.
Etienne Jr. remains “day to day,” per coach Doug Pederson. He missed Week 7, and rookie Tank Bigsby shined in a full-time role with 26 carries for 118 yards and two touchdowns.
Pittman Jr. did not practice Wednesday but also missed last week’s Wednesday practice with the same injury and suited up on Sunday against the Dolphins.
Downs missed practice with a toe injury but should be okay to play in Week 8 as he did last week with the same injury.
Samuel Sr. was hospitalized with pneumonia on Monday and was released on Tuesday. He did not practice Wednesday but still has a chance to play Sunday against the Cowboys.
Kincaid was limited in practice Wednesday but is expected to play Sunday against the Seahawks.
Knox missed practice Wednesday, and his status for Week 8 is up in the air. As the TE2 in Buffalo, his ceiling was limited, and this drops his outlook further for Sunday.
Olave was limited in practice Wednesday after missing Week 7. He’s progressing through concussion protocol and looks poised to return in Week 8.
Thielen was limited in practice Wednesday, opening the door for his return in Week 8. His status on Friday will likely weigh into whether he plays or not.
