Having football on Thanksgiving Day means we have some exciting new takeaways for fantasy football. With the fantasy football playoffs just around the corner, die hard fans are scouring for every piece of information possible to help them out. With that said, I’m going to give the most important takeaways from this three game slate and how they relate to the fantasy football season.

1. Caleb Williams has Arrived

As a rookie, it was always going to take time for Caleb Williams to produce in fantasy football. We saw a glimmer of hope early on in the year when Williams scored 23.6 and 28.6 points in weeks five through six. As the Bears began to struggle, so did Williams, failing to score more than 17 points until week 11. With the Bears firing Shane Waldron and bringing in Thomas Brown, Williams has now put up back to back 26 point performances.

On Thanksgiving in particular, we saw the Bears are trying to give Williams as many reps as possible. The organization doesn’t really care about their record anymore and instead their main priority is developing their former number one overall pick. This is great for fantasy football, as we just saw Williams drop back 39 times in addition to having four rush attempts. All of this volume led to 26.1 fantasy points and hope that Williams will be startable in fantasy football for the next few weeks.

2. Keenan Allen is Back

I was a bit hesitant to call Keenan Allen’s recent performances legit until Thanksgiving Day. With Waldron formerly calling the plays, Allen had one game over 10 points all season. After Brown took over in week 12, Allen has been very involved scoring more than 23 points in both games. Brown is doing a good job getting the ball out of Williams’s hand quickly, leading to a lot of short receptions for the 32 year old receiver.

According to Fantasy Data, Allen drew eight targets this game and PFF has marked it at 43 routes run (two less than team leader D. J. Moore). The increase in passing volume also helps Allen gain more opportunity. This isn’t a one game sample either as Allen is averaging 9.4 targets since week nine. After watching Allen on Thanksgiving, I feel confident putting him in my FLEX spot going forward.

3. Tyrone Tracy’s Future Outlook is Bleak

With Drew Lock under center the Giants offense looked rough on Thanksgiving. Although the team scored 20 points, Lock only had 178 passing yards and also led the team with 57 rushing yards. Tyrone Tracy fumbled twice in week 10 which has resulted in him getting less than 10 carries both weeks. In week 13, Tracy was officially benched according to PFF.

During the game, Devin Singletary had seven carries, essentially splitting the backfield with Tracy who had nine. Even though Tracy ended up scoring 14.5 points, almost half of that was from his touchdown run. Unfortunately Tracy wasn’t very efficient on the day either, running for 3.6 YPC. I’d be cautious of starting Tracy going forward.
