Florida A&M football is hitting the Southeastern Conference ranks to add talent to its 2025 roster.
On Friday, former Florida Gators tight end Gavin Hill announced that he was transferring to the Rattlers. Hill has three years of eligibility remaining.
Hill was a consensus four-star prospect out of Buchholz High School in Gainesville before joining the Gators’ 2023 recruiting class as a defensive lineman over Florida State, Auburn, Kentucky, Miami, and others. ESPN ranked Hill the 258th-best prospect in his graduating class.
Hill never saw action for the Gators in his two seasons, redshirting his freshman season. Hill then switched to the offensive side of the ball as a tight end for the Gators.
At 6-foot-3 and 246 pounds, Hill adds another option for FAMU to utilize at tight end. He’ll join the position group led by Koby Gross, an All-Southwestern Athletic Conference second-teamer in 2024.
Hill’s arrival at FAMU reunites him with his Buchholz teammates, wide receiver Quan Lee and linebacker Nay’Ron Jenkins, who were both key contributors for the 7-5 Rattlers in 2024.
