The Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD) visited Aspire Academy in Doha, Qatar, in an effort towards understanding the best practices of football institutions on a global level.
The progress and development of the academy has caught the attention of the FABD delegation led by its President Haji Feisal bin Haji Eusoff Patail.
The sports academy based in the Aspire Zone in Qatar was established to find and help develop Qatari athletes. FABD Executive Committee member Pengiran Haji Waslimin bin Pengiran Setia Jaya Pengiran Haji Momin was also present.
The visit was one of the events during his stay in Doha at the invitation and sponsorship of the President of the Qatar Football Association.
During the visit, the president also toured infrastructure facilities of the academy for youth and grassroots football programmes in Qatar and briefed by Aspire Qatar Academy’s Senior Public Relations Officer Esperanza Campuzano.
Haji Feisal was also an official invitee to witness the finals of the Qatar Emir Cup 2024 for the 52nd edition between Qatar SC and Al Sadd at the Education City Stadium.
The FABD President also met the Director of International Relations of the Qatar Football Association to discuss ways for the national team to conduct training and hold a friendly match session to expose the under-21 youth players in preparation for the 2024 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) qualification as well as the 2025 Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy (HBT). – Fadhil Yunus
