The CMG Global Chinese Program Center unveiled its 2024 summer cultural and travel programs in Beijing, introducing a new media zone titled “China Travel – Play in China!”
Since the inception of the 72/144-hour visa-free transit policy in January 2013, this initiative has significantly contributed to China’s openness and global engagement, easing travel for international visitors and fostering global cooperation. On July 15, 2024, the National Immigration Administration of China announced the expansion of the 144-hour visa-free transit policy to include Henan and Yunnan Provinces, providing additional travel and business opportunities for foreigners.
Following the announcement, international interest surged, with “China Travel” becoming a trending topic on numerous overseas social platforms and igniting a global fascination with traveling in China.
To further educate international tourists about the 144-hour visa-free transit policy and enhance their travel experience, the CMG Global Chinese Program Center, in collaboration with relevant cities and Sino-foreign cultural exchange centers, has launched the “China Travel – Play in China!” zone across CMG’s new media platforms, including CCTV and CMB Mobile. This initiative aims to showcase China’s splendor to both domestic and international visitors.
Additionally, starting this summer, China National Radio’s Chinese Global Programming Center will introduce 20 new cultural and travel programs, including documentaries, integrated media productions, and reality shows. These offerings are designed to warmly welcome global visitors, allowing them to experience China’s scenic beauty and cultural richness, thereby promoting cultural exchange and understanding through China’s enduring heritage and narratives.
