A former Eagles star and Pro Football Hall of Famer is coming back … to the NBA’s Celebrity game during All-Star Weekend.
Terrell Owens, one of the greatest receivers of all time, is set to play in the NBA’s yearly celebrity showcase that features famed actors, musicians, comedians, reality stars, and these days, influencers, the league announced Tuesday. Owens, 51, will be playing in the game for the fourth time, but the first time since 2010 (the same year he last appeared in a NFL game).
Owens appeared in the game every year from 2008-10 winning MVP his first two years. He was the only participant to win multiple MVPs before comedian/acto Kevin Hart caught him in 2013 with his second MVP. Hart and Owens are the event’s only participants to win the MVP award multiple times.
Perhaps he’s trying to reclaim the record from Hart?
Owens will be on the floor with former NBA players Matt Barnes and Baron Davis, Olympic track and field medalists Masai Russell and Shelby McEwen, and two WNBA stars, the Atlanta Dream’s Allisha Gray and the Golden State Valkyries’ Kayla Thornton on opposing teams, among other celebrities.
The teams will be coached by rapper 2 Chainz, Hall of Fame receiver Jerry Rice, former San Francisco Giants legend Barry Bonds, and influencer Khaby Lame.
