EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Twice in two weeks, officials are looking for answers after vandalism at McDonald Golf Course on Morgan Avenue.
The putting green on hole number three was damaged over the weekend.
About two weeks ago, there was damage to a practice green.
Officials say both times, the greens had tracks they believe came from an ATV.
Evansville Parks and Recreation Executive Director Danielle Crook says crews have patched the green, but if the repair doesn’t work, it could cost thousands to fix.
“The amount of effort that goes into maintaining a golf course is exorbitant, and I know the crew here at McDonald works really hard every day to keep the course nice for the community,” she says. “So something like this is detrimental to the courses success. They’ve tried to do some repairs, but if they don’t take and that grass dies, then it’s not going to be pretty.”>
Officials ask if you know anything about this vandalism call the Parks Department or the police.
