EPHRATA – The Ephrata School District announced that Tracy Pickeral has been named the new Ephrata girls golf coach Thursday.
Pickeral served as an assistant coach with the program for the past three seasons.
“We’re thrilled to have Tracy step into this new role,” EHS Athletic Director Bryan Johnson said. “Her recent experience and passion for the sport, combined with the rapid growth of the girls program, makes this an exciting time for EHS Golf. We’re looking forward to the continued success of our girls team under her leadership.”
With the girls golf program growing from one golfer to 12 since 2021, there was a need for a dedicated head coach — Greg Hewitt had coached both the boys and girls teams for the past three seasons and will continue to coach the boys golf team.
Pickeral is a graduate of Central Washington University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in K-8 Education, and has a master’s degree in education from Washington State University. She is a sixth-grade math teacher at Parkway Intermediate School and has been with the Ephrata School District for 11 years.
“I’m excited to take on this new role and look forward to a great season this Spring,” Pickeral said. “I appreciate all the hard work Mr. Hewitt has put into the golf program and I’m excited to continue the amazing Tiger traditions.”
