EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Evansville police say they arrested a man after finding him drunk in his car that was parked on a golf course.
Officers say they were called to Fendrich Golf Course on East Diamond Avenue just before 8:30 Friday night.
That’s where police say 75-year-old Robert Hagood was sitting in his car with the engine turned off.
Police say when they informed Hagood that he was off the roadway, he replied saying “I was?” and told police he was trying to get off the Lloyd Expressway.
EPD says while they were attempting to do a field sobriety test, Hagood’s speech was slurred and he stumbled several times, including having to hold onto the officers to keep his balance.
Officers say Hagood’s BAC was .189, over twice the legal limit.
Hagood was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail and charged with Drunk Driving.
