No matter what side of the aisle you’re on, election season can be stressful, and with the consistent political ads on TV, phones and mail, it can be overwhelming.
To encourage people to take a deep breath and have a moment of relaxation at the end of a tense election season, Planet Fitness is offering complimentary hydromassages across all Denver locations on Election Day.
Those wanting a massage don’t have to be a Planet Fitness member. As Planet Fitness is open 24 hours a day, people can go to any location in the Denver metro area at any time on Tuesday.
Hydromassagers use water and pressure to help relax muscles, improve circulation and reduce tension, which can relieve soreness and aid in recovery.
“Anytime you relax, you’re lowering stress hormones and boosting endorphins, enhancing your overall well-being,” said Izzy Benjamin-Alvarado, Denver regional manager of Planet Fitness.
With 40 locations across the state, including Denver, Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, Brighton and more, find the closest one to you on their website at planetfitness.com/clubs/co.
A hydromassage at Planet Fitness is just one of the ways that can help reduce election-related stress. Ranging from political divisions to uncertainty about the future, mental health professionals have seen an increase in election-related stress and the negative impact it can have on mental health.
Randi Smith, a psychology professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver suggests taking frequent breaks from screens, having conversations with others, connecting with your support system and focusing on what you can control.
