LIBERTY — Edward Lee Pratt, 82, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, at Austintown Healthcare Center, after a year-long battle with gastric cancer.
Edward was born in Reynoldsville, W.Va., on Sept. 18, 1942, the son of the late Hayward Pratt and Ada Williams.
Mr. Pratt was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army.
After his time in the service, he held many jobs, including employment at the Youngstown Airport, Lexington Connector Seals and time as a truck driver. Outside of work, Edward enjoyed golfing, woodworking and his daily meals at the Yankee Kitchen. However, his true pride and joy were his granddaughter, Mercedes, and great-granddaughter, Athena. Edward lit up talking about their accomplishments and especially enjoyed sharing photos with those he met. He was a beloved grandpa who never missed a birthday or Christmas morning and will be dearly missed.
Edward leaves behind memories with his son, David (Nicole) Pratt of Austintown; granddaughter, Mercedes (Dillon) Randolph of Howland; and great-granddaughter, Athena Randolph. Edward is also survived by four brothers, Sonny of Girard, Ron of McDonald, Bill of Hubbard and Mike of Cortland; and two sisters, Judy Hoak of North Jackson and Sheila Baldwin of Leonard, Maryland.
Mr. Pratt was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joe Pratt, Jerry Pratt and Terry Pratt; and his sister, Sandra Sheely.
Per Edward’s request, there will not be any public services or calling hours.
His closest family will celebrate his life as he would have wanted — a breakfast at Yankee Kitchen.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman.
Family and friends are encouraged to offer prayers for the family and support via phone call, text, email or may visit the Book of Memories at www.rossifunerals.com.
