The announcement
of the finalists for the 2024 Eclipse Awards will be made Sunday at noon EST and
show live on FanDuel TV, the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, National
Turf Writers and Broadcasters and Daily Racing Form announced Friday.
The Eclipse
Awards honoring excellence in Thoroughbred racing were voted upon by the NTRA represented
by member racetrack racing officials and Equibase field personnel, NTWAB and DRF.
FanDuel TV
also will show the 54th Eclipse Awards program live from The Breakers in
Palm Beach, Fla., on Thursday, Jan. 23. The evening will begin with a
red-carpet show at 6:30 p.m. EST followed by the awards presentation at 7:30
p.m. EST. The ceremony will be co-hosted by Britney Eurton and
Lindsay Czarniak, and Caton Bredar will serve as the ceremony announcer.
The evening
will culminate with the presentation of the 2024 horse of the year. Finalists for
that honor will not be announced until that evening.
New to this
year’s event, will be a charity golf tournament benefitting the Thoroughbred
Aftercare Alliance. It will be held the morning of the awards ceremony on the
ocean course at The Breakers.
Also new this
year, one fan and a guest will win a chance to attend the show as part of
the Eclipse Awards sweepstakes. The grand-prize winner and a guest also
accompany Resolute Racing at the Grade 1 Pegasus World Cup Invitational at
Gulfstream Park on Saturday, Jan. 25. There is no purchase necessary to
participate in the promotion. Entries may be made on the NTRA or Resolute Racing
websites and their social-media channels. Fans may enter the contest by explaining
why they want to win. Entries will be accepted online through Tuesday.
